At Atec we believe that the quality of our products and services reigns supreme. We aim to build premier products on time at a good value for our customers, but we will never sacrifice our end result for cost or schedule concerns. We go to great lengths to make sure that our Quality Management System (QMS) is always operating at a high level so that we can uphold our product and systems success rates while simultaneously adhering to timelines and cost projections.

PROCESS

Atec’s QMS ensures steadfast commitment to both domestic ASQ and SAE standards, EU requirements, as well as international ISO/AS quality standards. Atec’s inspection labs offer the industry’s most sophisticated equipment, including 5 CMMs and laser/optical units, as well as a full complement of electronic and environmental test equipment. Test technicians and quality assurance personnel combine their in - depth knowledge and experience with our thorough regimen of equipment to guarantee the reliability, accuracy, and longevity of our products.

Training

The key to our quality commitment is regular, in - depth training for our entire Atec employee base. Every member of our team, from the newest addition to the seasoned veteran, is required to periodically attend rotating training sessions covering every a spect of our business. We emphasize staying up to date on the most cutting edge techniques, tools, and procedures within specific job roles and within our company as a whole. Additionally, we frequently train our customers’ operating personnel to ensure their success in using our products and systems. We also provide training in technological areas such as FEA, CFD, and software programming.

Performance

We have over 20 years of performance commendations from USDOD branches, and Atec’s quality and performance over the years for our nation’s aerodefense and launch capability is widely recognized. Our involvement with NASA, United Launch Alliance, USAF, USN, DARPA, DCMA and large Primes has contributed greatly to the retention of key suppliers for USDOD, US Space Program and our Allies. Our critical aviation and space flight experience, as well as our history with cryogenics, has contributed to Atec’s emerging involvement in testing and inspection in related functions, such as high pressure testing and high temperature testing for broad applications.

Inspection & Testing

Atec’s experienced internal and external inspectors provide critical oversight for job site construction, internal plant operations, field service, and supplier plants. Our inspectors are trained to assist other companies with preparedness in their own future inspections as well.

Test plans, reports and data outputs are compiled, reviewed and provided for customers as needed. Long term inspection and sustainment contracts are available.

Electronic Test

Superior products demand accurate assembly. Our technicians are trained and certified in a wide variety of skills, from printed circuit board soldering to high-speed gearbox assembly to cryogenic rocket engine fuel valves testing. Atec has Certified IPC Trainers (CITs) on staff that are specialists in the latest J-STD-001 and J-STD-001 Space Addendum applications. Low volume through-hole and surface mount PCBs are regularly produced and repaired internally. Higher volumes of PCBs are effectively outsourced. Atec has the skills to tackle the most complicated assemblies. Beyond the component level, Atec can integrate and test diverse assemblies into complex, large scale products. Atec is adept at both leading edge and legacy techniques, such as precision hand and CNC coil winding.

Mechanical Inspection

Atec, Inc. can send our experienced Quality Inspectors to audit, verify and inspect suppliers’ facilities to ensure services are being manufactured to design specifications and project requirements.  Atec’s quality procedures, clean rooms, detailed documentation and comprehensive production control system ensure the accurate assembly of the most demanding products.

Our quality assurance team is authorized to inspect and stamp final approval on behalf of some customers. Developed with the customers’ needs in mind, quality inspections vary in accordance with customer-specified requirements. Atec, Inc. is ISO 9001:2015 & AS9100:2016, Rev. D certified.  As a result of our ongoing rocket valve program, Atec, Inc. is an LCS (Laboratory Control Source) Approved Supplier for Pratt & Whitney and Rocketdyne. Our main clean room is certified annually as an ISO14644-1, ISO Class 7 Clean Room.
