Atec Weathers Harvey

We are very grateful to say that Atec’s family and our companies were fortunate to not have flooding from Hurricane Harvey. We are all about preparation and planning here in Texas and we are pleased to report that foresight has been rewarded. Atec, VLI and Hager have weathered what our Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management has classified as an “800-Year” storm event without any damage to our facilities, equipment and infrastructure.  All our facilities are fortunately built up above grade so that even if streets flood, our main plant is safe.  We are thankful to be open for business today with no equipment or inventory damage. Each location benefited from Pre-Hurricane & Continuous Preparation, Protection, Planning, Security, and Risk Management procedures in place to ensure business continues without significant interruptions. Our 24/7 Hotline has worked flawlessly this week, with all calls properly connected and followed up by our FSRs. Our mobile communications infrastructure with 24/7 Hotline, email, cellphones, pads/laptops, VPN remote network, remote server access, call forwarding, remote message retrievals, networked FSR/Engineering scheduling-assignments, and Global Shop 4G ERP materials, production, delivery and installation scheduling make remote urgent project progress supportable in all locations. Atec and VLI are dedicated to “on call” readiness for USAF engine support. We are here to support you today and in the future.

Sadly, some of our team members have had damage to their homes, but all of our team and families are safe, Praise God.  We are definitely blessed in the midst of such tragedy around the Houston area as I know you are all seeing on the news. We have begun a Hospitality Corner for donations to disaster victims here and in our community. Many of our employees are volunteering in area shelters and cleanup. Truly we are blessed, and our Atec Airmen continue to give back.

What has been awesome, in the midst of such chaos, is the true “love your neighbor as yourself” attitude of people in the Houston area and surrounding communities.  It has been refreshing to see such a spirit of brotherhood amongst the thousands of volunteers and first responders, and to see that Spirit displayed around the Nation on the news. Houston and the Atec team appreciates your thoughts and assistance.
