Atec Acquires Astronics’ Engine Test Systems Lines

Atec, Inc. has today acquired the engine test systems business and product lines of Astronics Test Systems, Inc. Astronics’ engine test products have a proud history involving the US Navy, Racal and EADS in Texas, California and Florida. Atec is the oldest engine test cell company in the USA, now with seven locations internationally.

“Atec is expanding areas of our business,” said Howard Lederer, Atec Chairman. “Astronics wanted a growing company with a quality, customer service reputation in aeroengine test to put their employees and customers in good hands— and were excited to find Atec. Our agreement provides for a cooperative transition on key personnel, installations, troubleshooting, inventory and sourcing to insure seamless service for the Navy and other customers,” continued Lederer.  Atec adds these product lines to its growing operations under the trademark of Naval Engine Test Systems or NETS, to join Celtech, Vital Link, Vital Link Europe, and Hager Machine & Tool in Atec’s corporate family. “We are excited to add Astronics’ engine test products and strong relationship with the US Navy to our company.  JETI, SETI and TPTI have been respected test systems handling the demanding propulsion requirements of Naval aviation for many years.  Atec is now committed to continued improvement of these Navy systems,” added Paul Fenley, Atec’s President.

More information on NETS and Atec’s growth and alignment plans for this new acquisition will be forthcoming over the balance of 2017. For more about the company see atec.com.
